Student life

Hereford, quite simply, is a city that tries harder. Home to some of the most passionate creators, innovators and doers. Brimming with entrepreneurial vision, Hereford plays host to some of the most talented independent businesses within the UK, as well as some big names within the engineering sector. With a thriving independent food and music scene, miles upon miles of breath-taking countryside and an abundance of activities right on our doorstep, Hereford will quickly become your home from home.

We're easily reached and well serviced by national rail and coach services, by car we are approximately one hour’s drive from Birmingham, Cardiff and Bristol.

NMITE has passionately integrated itself into the local community by utilising all the services and opportunities Hereford has to offer to enhance the NMITE student experience.

What's it like to live in West Midlands?
Check out our region guide

The West Midlands is made up of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire. Its main cities are Birmingham, Coventry, and Wolverhampton.

It’s the most diverse part of the country behind London, with a proud multicultural history, from the birth of Two-Tone music in Coventry – a combination of Caribbean ska and English punk – to the Balti curry, courtesy of Birmingham’s Pakistani community.

Once the heart of heavy industry and manufacturing, and the inspiration for Peaky Blinders, Birmingham is one of the youngest cities in Europe, with over 40% under 25 years old.
