There are a number of ways you can support your students in the lead up to results days, to ensure they are prepared for all eventualities.

Still have students applying?

Please check Apply for advisers regularly, to make sure no applications are waiting to be sent. We can accept an application with choices until 18:00 (UK time) on Friday 30 June 2017 – after this date all applications go straight into Clearing.

Decisions and reply dates

  • The majority of decisions have been made, or will be made over the coming weeks. Please make sure you and your colleagues are aware of the key dates for when your students need to reply to their offers.
  • If an applicant wants to accept an offer for a course with an early start date, they should respond as soon as possible. If they decide not to accept an early start date offer, they need to notify the university as soon as possible.
  • It’s also important your students reply to any invitations they’re sent. These will appear in Track as a request to either attend an interview or audition, or to provide a piece of work or portfolio.

Updates to Clearing 2017

  • Clearing opens for eligible applicants on Wednesday 5 July. Vacancies will be displayed in our search tool, and will remain live throughout the Confirmation and Clearing period.
  • Eligible applicants will be able to add a Clearing choice in Track from 10:00 (UK time) on SQA results day (8 August), and from 15:00 (UK time) on A level results day (17 August).
  • We plan to email advisers on SQA and A level results days with a list of students who have not had their place confirmed at their chosen university or college. It is envisaged we will only be able to offer this to centres where applicants are taking qualifications with which UCAS has a formal Awarding Body Linkage. Testing is currently taking place on exact details, so please look out for more information on ucas.com, and in our newsletters.

Reminders for your students

Before your students leave for the holidays, please remind them to:

  • make sure they know their Personal ID and password for Track
  • make sure they update their contact details in Track – otherwise they may miss vital updates
  • regularly check Track – this could avoid the need to call us or their chosen university or college
  • not be on holiday when their results are published

Our Confirmation and Clearing hub will signpost you to all the latest information and advice.
