Harriet Bradley won the 2016 Love Learning competition essay category, with her passion for studying English at the University of Southampton.   


Sarah Jane Pugh's essay was a runner up in the 2016 Love Learning competition. She's studying marine science at the University of the Highlands and Islands.

University is truly the making of me. It has helped mould me intellectually and characteristically into the person I am today.


Undergraduate degrees aren't only for those people who have just finished their secondary education. After a 'three-year battle with depression', mature student Noel Graham chose to study psychology at University of the West of England (UWE). Noel's essay was a runner up in the 2016 Love Learning competition.

The experiences of my past now seem like a blessing, if not for this unpleasant time I would not be where I am today, finishing off one of the most exciting and reward journeys of my life and ready to embark on another.
