What makes us different

Glasgow is Scotland’s largest and the UK’s 4th largest city and is a shopper’s paradise, catering for all tastes and budgets. It’s also the UK’s first UNESCO city of Music and was rated as the friendliest and most affordable city in the world by Time Out in 2019.

In addition, the University itself is world changing and has over 250 clubs and societies, over 50 sports clubs and 2 Students Unions. The Queen Margaret Union hosts new music, local bands, big-name acts, student-run club nights and a variety of events from quizzes to open mic nights and a spoken word night. While the Glasgow University Union has everything a student needs within the stunning old Union building and purpose-built extension nightclub, with no fewer than nine bars, two libraries, a debating chamber, snooker and pool hall, convenience store, two cafes and a coffee shop.
